FAQ'S

Before the Operation

How should I prepare for the operation?

You should have a good night sleep and a light breakfast with plenty of water before the surgery. Please follow the instructions from the patient coordinator at the clinic regarding the organization of the operation schedule.

Can I consume alcohol or tobacco before/after the procedure?

Will there be any medical examination before the operation?

Yes, each patient gets a physical examination and a blood test before the operation. The blood test is checking for bloodborne infections that are potentially risky in any operating theater (HIV, Hep C).

What can I do if I have a medical condition?

In this case, please notify our doctors with all the relevant information about your medical condition as this may affect the procedure. Any allergies, chronic diseases and long term medical problems should be shared with the doctors prior to the planning of the operation. If you happen to have a medical problem before your operation, please notify the doctors as soon as possible. In most cases, pre-existing medical conditions do not restrict hair transplantation surgeries but please ask your doctor or one of our doctors for more information.

What should I wear for the operation?

The clinic will provide a sterile gown and slippers for you to wear during the operation. Please make sure that your outfit for the day of the operation is weather appropriate and your top has buttons (like a shirt) or a zipper (like a pullover), because you won’t be able to put on your top otherwise, due to the risk of physical contact to the clothing and mechanical damage to the newly transplanted hair follicles.

What should I do before traveling to Turkey?

Please make sure if you need to get a visa for entry into Turkey. There is no visa requirement to British passports March 2, 2020. Please visit (http://www.mfa.gov.tr/visa-information-for-foreigners.en.mfa ) to check if you need a visa for your passport.

Can I consume alcohol or tobacco before/after the procedure?

As alcohol can interact with the medication (local anesthetics) used during the procedure, you should avoid drinking alcoholic beverages or taking narcotic drugs for at least 24 hours prior to the operation. It is also highly recommended that you avoid drinking alcohol as long as you are taking antibiotics after the procedure. Smoking causes constriction of your blood vessels and this may affect your hair growth. Naturally, we advise you to stop smoking immediately and never start again. But at least, we strongly advise that you cease smoking 24 hours prior to the operations and for 1 week after the operation for the best results.
